Protect VB Neighborhoods
Feb 3, 2017 — Yesterday, a group of PVBRN members from Sandbridge travelled to Richmond and made a difference. As noted by the Virginian Pilot in today's paper - "Two Beach residents said they’d like to see all short-term rentals be on a register, including those run by real estate companies like those in Sandbridge. One person said the rentals in Sandbridge create the same problems that Airbnbs can sometimes bring."
A group of concerned citizens has formed a new community organization. (PVBRN)
One of our concerns is about the consequences of commercial activity in our neighborhoods throughout VB. This includes a discussion of short-term-rentals and the need for some responsibility and accountability from the owners and managers of these properties. We want to minimize the disruptions caused by these types of rentals while understanding that they are a current source of income for the owners and the management companies.
We would like to take a positive approach and try to support efforts to maintain the residential nature and family-oriented nature of neighborhoods in VB. The residents in any neighborhood provide the stability and welcoming nature of Virginia Beach. We believe in efforts to insure and improve the health, safety and general welfare of our VB residents. If you are interested in these things and want to have your voice heard, then please join this group.
